Department of Cardiology was started by me on 8th Febraury 2002 at A.J Hospital and Research Centre, Mangaluru. Glimpses of my academic achievements including interesting cath lab cases and some are 'FIRST's in this region, state and world.

Dr. B. V. Manjunath.MD,DM completed his M.B.B.S and M.D(Gen. Medicine) from Mysore Medical College, Mysore, Karnataka in 1985 and 1989 respectively. Later he worked as a Sr.Resident in the famous Southern Railway HQ Hospital, Perambur, Madras. He obtained DM cardiology from prestigious Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Karnataka in 1994. He had an extensive experience in interventional cardiology at the state of art. Madras Medical Mission Hospital, Chennai, a truly research institute under the dynamic leadership of Padmashri Dr. K.M.Cherian, a worldwide known cardiac surgeon.
He established the Department of Cardiology at A.J.Hospital and Research Centre, Mangalore, from 2002 onwards and continues to head the department and established the teaching courses like D.N.B.(Cardio) and PGDCC programme in 2004 - 2006 and DM Cradiology Program since 2014 which is currently running. Apart from Non-invasive cardiac investigations, is having wide experience in the cath lab procedure till now.

Invited as Chairperson at National Interventional Council meet at Kochi, Kerala on 27th April 2012 on “Longterm therapy with antithrombotics”
Conducted successfully the 2nd SPECTRUM conducted on 12th Jan 2013 (SymPosium on Cardiovascular Therapies and Research Update-Mangalore) At Conference Hall, A J.Hospital and Research Centre. Mangalore where eminent speakers delivered lucid lectures which was well attended by Cardiologists,Physicians and PGs of Medicine.
Conducted successfully the 3rd SPECTRUM at A.J Hospital and Research Centre Mangalore, on 15th march 2014. It was well attended by 220 delegates across the state and outside. Eminent speakers delivered lectures.
Conducted successfully the 4th SPECTRUM at Hotel Ocean Pearl Mangalore, on 10 th Jan, 2015. It was well attended by 275 delegates across the state and outside. Eminent speakers delivered lectures.

Latest Publication of my paper on 23-03-2022 in Indian Journal of Vascular and Endo Vascular Surgery on "Rare Case of Large Saccular pseudo aneurysm from both Iliac Arteries and its management by Endovascular Repair using kissing Balloon - Stent technique.
Annual Cardiology Conference SPECTRUM was successfully held on 2nd Saturday of January every year since 2012. The 10th edition was held on 9th Saturday January 2021 on a virtual platform due to COVID and 11th edition was held on 8th Saturday January 2022, (Hybrird Form - Virtual + Physical Workshop) on Shockwave SVL and EPS to DM/DNB PG's. It was well attended by > 350 delegates across spectrummangalore.com.
12th Edition of Annual cardiology Conference Sppectrum was successfully held on 7th Januaury, 2023 at A J Grand Hotel Mangaluru. It was well attended by < 250 delegates physically and > delegates virtually. Had prominent National and International Speakers, who spoke and debated on various non invarite and intenational cardiology topics. There was 'hands on' Workshop on IVUS & IMPELLA for DM/DNB PG's.
